Sr. Inside Account Specialist

Hamamatsu, one of the world’s largest suppliers of advanced light detectors and detector systems for industrial, scientific, and commercial applications, has an immediate opening for a Sr. Inside Account Specialist based out of our Bridgewater, NJ area. Our customer base is remarkably diverse; we serve Fortune 100 firms, top research labs, and innovative startups as well. Responsibilities include:

 
  • Coordinate sales agreement submissions and act on behalf of the Sales Manager to confirm that all required documentation and approvals are complete and accurately entered in the ERP system.
  • Partner with the Planning Department and assigned Sales Engineers to establish required purchase orders or purchase agreements with the parent company. Monitor order and shipment issues and provide coverage when a Sales Engineer or Account Manager is unavailable for an extended period.
  • Review of sales agreements monthly to:
    • Monitor inventory levels against established minimums.
    • Alert the Sales Engineer when an agreement is nearing its expiration date or quantity limit.
    • Maintain an active sales agreement summary and provide quarterly updates to the Sales Manager.
  • Support Account Managers with assigned large accounts or product lines by:
    • Entering and maintaining forecasts in the ERP system.
    • Communicating SOM and net requirements to the parent company.
    • Identifying potential risks and recommending mitigation plans.
  • Manage a portfolio of established Hamamatsu Corporation accounts focused primarily on order and inventory management, under the direction of the appropriate Sales Manager.
  • Develop cross-functional standard operating procedures, maintain Quality Management System documentation for sales agreements and Sales Engineers, and train Sales Department employees. Identify process barriers and implement practical solutions.
  • Build and maintain working knowledge of photonics technologies and their applications.

Required Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, business administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five or more years of experience in sales, customer service, or material requirements planning (MRP).
  • Two or more years of experience with Microsoft CRM, or a comparable CRM platform, and an MRP system.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including PowerPoint, VLOOKUP, logic statements, etc.
  • Completion of HC Technical Group training on HPK components, or successful completion of the related assessments within the required timeframe.
  • Ability to travel to customer locations up to 10% of the time.
  • Reliable transportation for business-related appointments.
  • Ability to create, maintain, and consistently follow established documentation procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:
 
  • Knowledge of photonics components, their applications, and the markets served by HPK-related products.
  • One or more years of experience in the photonics industry.
  • One or more years of OEM sales experience involving direct customer engagement, including at least 15 customer sales visits.
Pay Range

The target base pay range for this role at commencement of employment is expected to be between $89,000 - $112,000 annually. Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and qualifications.
